We’re delighted to announce that artist and illustrator Sam Morris will be in residence at Cotswolds Designer Outlet this summer, from Monday 28th July – Sunday 10th August 2025, transforming the space next to wagamama into a working studio and pop-up gallery.
Make sure you stop by to discover a display of finished pieces, including: paintings, illustrations, and sketchbooks to flip through, alongside a creative studio space where Sam will be painting live, experimenting with ideas, collaborating with fellow artists and working on new storytelling illustrations.
Guests are warmly invited to drop in, browse the gallery, ask Sam questions about techniques, materials and mediums, and take part in creative activities throughout the week.
Over the two weeks Sam will be be painting live as she continues her work on The Cotswold Collection, but there are also are a few extra events happening during the residency which include:
- Monday 28th July – Sunday 10th August 2025: Live painting
- Sunday 3rd August: Doodle Dog Day – Bring your dog (or a photo) for a fun mini sketch! All doodles will form a joyful live gallery wall of pet visitors
- Sat 9 Aug (9:30am–12noon): Guest artist Christina Sadler joins me in the studio – we’ve created collaborative paintings where abstract meets narrative in a call-and-response style come and watch us in action
- Sun 10 Aug (10am–4pm): Three of Sam’s painting students will be in the studio painting their favourite characters – visitors are welcome to drop in, watch, and ask questions as they work.
So, whether you’re a seasoned art lover, a curious passerby, or just looking for a burst of creativity this summer, Sam Morris’s residency at Cotswolds Designer Outlet offers a unique chance to step inside the artist’s world. With live painting, doggy doodles, and a gallery full of vibrant pieces, it’s an experience not to be missed.
